Case:
Faithful reproduction of the French Comtoise grandfather clock. Slim tall and fully made of finely selected Austrian Fir wood. Hight thick as per the originals. Blown glass even if old ones had not glass and they were open. Light colors and gently armonious floral painting and decoration made personally by our Mr. Stefano and Mrs. Lara based on old drawings. In fact the clock was originally covered by the results of the animals in the farm and then dryed and hand painted by the people in the house during the winter time when the work in the fields was a few. You have now a piece of story slim and tall because at that time the clock was used to get consumed by the humidity so they start cutting the feet than the base… and finally case burned in the fireplace and the clock movement inside the “iron case” stayed hanged to the wall itself.
Movement:
Original real French mechanical movement from the company Odobez, they do clock movements in France artisannaly as did by their fathers in the 1700's and poorely made of iron insted of brass and cord instead of chains. It plays hour and half an hour and it repeat the strokes on 2 minutes after the o'clock. It has the bell and the coil gong to chime togher or alone. It may stop to chime automatically from 10pm till 7.30am. Accessories also include: moonphase dial/face under the 12 and it's made of genuine emaille with the family brand Odobez and the painted flowers. It has the cord to pull down for repeat the time anytime when people had forgot that. Winding is weekly by rotating the cranc key at the 2 holes in the dial. Black dirty iron weights in the back of the pendulum. Tiplical French dial rooster and sun decoration. Pendulum is new brass made little antiqued in front of the iron weights that stay in the back. In the past the pendulum was a metric line to stay in the pocket while walking farm to farm for selling and repairing during the summertime in the clock road between France Switzerland and Germany. Do not move the minute hand counterclockwise. Very specially clock features the daydate in the same hand shaft of the minute hand and hour hand because it's an unique high level reproduction of clock movements made in the poor villages of South and Eastern France 300 years ago.
Warranty:
We grant 2 years totally worldwide. It has the operating and starting booklet in different languages included. Clock wood has been selected in 5 years so it's dry and safe itself. About the movement package is the same movement itself “the black iron case” hanged to the back side. So simply open the top doors to the right and to the left sides. It comes off to the front simply by unscrewing the 2 screws from the back. If you send or bring back the old one we give you a new clock movement package for free during the first 2 years and later at sole its cost. Anycase you do not need to repair or to ask people to come to your house. Simply self made replacement and per post sending back the old one to us.
